Do I Need To Buy A Commerical Espresso Machine For Coffee Shop?
Q: I don't think we are gonna make alot of Espresso, because it's more like 'Boba Tea', and 'Ice Shave Shop'. Do I have to get a commercial Espresso machine, or can I have a home use Espresso machine?
A: It depends on volume, but I would say yes. Plan on spending around 1500 for a decent one. Speed is a key factor with this type of product, so you would want to sell more coffee faster, or you would want it to take longer between cups waiting for the steam to build up for the next cup? If you are going to offer the product, spend the money and do it properly. An amateur job on this will cast a pall over the entire operation. You would be better off not offering Espresso at all, than having a consumer-grade machine behind the counter. That depends though, on whether you want to sell quality or not. If you choose quality, you'll need a commercial machine since the home one does not come close. You should also consider location, cheap vs. expensive.
