Good Coffee Maker For Single Cups

Q: I am the only person in my house who drinks coffee, Espresso or Cappuccino. I just got started with home roasting, and what I would like to do is find a good coffee maker that can make single cups of coffee. Even better, is if the coffee maker had some kind of travel mug and timer. This way I could set it up at night and have the mug ready to go when I walk out the door. I was in Starbucks this morning on my way to a seminar, and I noticed a Barista Solo (I think this was the name of it). It looked like what I was looking for, but I wanted to do some research before I decided. I looked online and saw a few articles on this machine, but I was wondering if there was something better that I should consider.

A: I do apologize if this came out the wrong way. As I indicated, I just got into home roasting as it seemed very fun and complimented my home brewing. I usually do enjoy/relax with coffee in the evenings or weekends, but during the week, life is just too quick to slow down on the way out the door. I went ahead and ordered a French Press coffee maker that arrived yesterday. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, as I left it in my car at the office :( Thanks for the suggestions from all, it is appreciated. Depending upon where you live, you might be able to find a Melitta look-alike in the next size up from a one-cupper. If it has four holes, plug two of them with stainless screws and brew away with water cooled about 15-20 seconds off of a boil. Grind from your home roast and use a fixed amount of coffee - a level standard coffee measure. Vary the amount of water until you get a cup you like.
