Is DeLonghi A Good Brand For Espresso Machines?
Q: I bought the 'DeLonghi BCO 120T' with coffee maker and Espresso Machine and I was wondering if this is a good buy. I was wondering how this one compares with the more expensive models. I know DeLonghi is Italian, and they make good machines. I got it for $80 dollars. Any Experiences with Espresso machines?
A: The DeLonghi's are a good machine but Espresso is like olive oil and wine - the more you pay, the better quality you get, so being familiar with these things at $80, you may not have the best machine. Check to see how many BARS pressure it has. If it's over 12 BARS, then you are fine. The pressure is what creates the right force to extract the full flavor and crema for the best drink. You can learn much more at this great site - www.top100espressomachines.com. They really do a good job of explaining the differences between the various models and their benefits. Happy brewing! I have a DeLonghi Magnifica 3300 Espresso machine and it's WONDERFUL! In fact, it's rate the highest of all espresso machines (even other DeLonghis which cost more)....BUT, mine retails for closer to $1500, so I'm not sure about the quality of the cheaper ones.
