Special is a term used to denote something which is extra ordinary, something which is very different from the usual stuff. Specialty coffee and tea are the special varieties of coffee and tea with an extra ordinary flavor, taste and aroma. The consumers are looking out for specialty products. Be it coffee, tea or perfumes, every one wants something which is quite different from the run of the mill stuff.

There are numerous varieties of coffee and tea which are special because of a variety of reasons. For example there are certain varieties which are special because they are rare. There are other varieties which are special just because they have a unique flavor. There are other varieties which are special because of the unique aroma. What ever the reason or trait qualifying for the specialness of the coffee and the tea, the experience of drinking these beverages is truly rewarding. The specialty teas are of the leaf tea variety and the rare varieties are mostly hand rolled varieties. There are other specialty tea and coffees which are artificially enhanced or flavored to make them quite special.

There is an association or organization set up to manage or lay down the guide lines to decide the specialty of the tea and coffees. Each country has its own organization. The American organization is known as the Specialty Coffee association of the United States of America or the SCAA. It was put in place in 1982 by a minuscule grouping of business professionals who were occupied with the coffee production. They all had a common aim of establishing an environment to have a discussion about issues and also to put down down definite standards to uphold the quality of the Specialty coffee trade. The Specialty Coffee association of the United States of America is now the biggest association of the coffee professionals in the whole world. It includes around three thousand professionals as its members. The Specialty Coffee association of the United States of America claims to have set in to motion or to have given the impetus to the world wide movement in quality and values of the Specialty Coffee.

Specialty Tea and coffee has found a new market in the modern world, because of the increasing needs of the customers for unique and new products. These specialty teas and coffees are sold at popular coffee and tea outlets, like Starbucks, Barista etc all over the world.
