Green Tea Caffeine
Tea just like coffee has some amount of caffeine in it. The amount of caffeine in tea is variable and is largely determined by the amount of tea consumed. The other main factor that influences the amount of caffeine in tea is the length of time taken to infuse the leaves. The caffeine content in both coffee and tea are the same in percentage at about 0.05%. There is however a complex difference between the two beverages in spite of the caffeine content is the same in both beverages.
The main difference between the caffeine in tea and the one in coffee is the way they react when taken. While the caffeine from coffee reacts fast with the nervous system causing what is commonly called the caffeine shock, the caffeine from the green tea is much cool and does not affect the nervous system rapidly thus it does no lead to caffeine shock as is common in coffee based caffeine. Caffeine from tea is known to stimulate the entire metabolic system from the nervous system. This is true because the caffeine stimulates more oxygen input into the brain thus boosting the brain functions and exciting muscle functions.
It is important to note that the caffeine in any drink can have some negative effects if not taken in the right way. People have however come up with methods of removing the caffeine content in tea while preserving its health benefits within the tea. If you want to do this, some crucial steps have to be observed. By infusing the tea in hot water for about 45 seconds then pouring off the liquid, a considerable amount of the caffeine content is lost with the liquid. If you repeat this practice a second time, you are likely to end up eliminating about 80% of all the caffeine in the tea. The good news is however in the fact that very little if any of the tea flavor is lost in the process. The tea also retains its sweet aroma in spite of the loss of the caffeine.
The above factors make green tea a better option for many who would want to take their beverage with much attention to the possible side effects that may result from the frequent consumption being minimize. Tea is known to provide a relaxing air without the consumer getting drowsy as is common with other beverages high in caffeine.
