We are being told by our Friends in Latin America & Mexico, that
Harsh Weather has done Damage to some of this Years Crop for 2011
in many Regions.

I can Believe It, ( and here is a chance for our Friends in the Midwest and East
to Laugh at Us, ) Ok lets have it,

But even we in so California have started having a Real Cold front
during the Evenings, Night & Mornings.

After our Lawn was mowed last Friday, we still could see the thick Frost layer,
after the Mow, and the Rooftops were Christmas white.

So I guess everyone is getting it.

Has anyone else had a report ?

I'm sure coffee farmers deal with issues that other crop farmers around the world deal with. There will always be issues with damage from insects, frost, too much or too little rain, excessive winds, etc. Nothing is perfect throughout the year, just some years are worse than others.

Our roaster has gone up a bit on the prices, but not enough to be that noticeable. Realistically I'd say you might pay up to $.50 more per lb. on a retail level (for home use) or maybe $.03-.05 per cup in a coffeeshop, if that. Now this is based on price increases I've seen and we don't use anything super exotic to warrant anything higher regardless of supply/demand. Later!
