Jakebot, you may be able to find something close to that price, if you are willing to buy in bulk. But if this is just for personal stash, you are probably not going to find any quality roasted FTO coffees for around $8. I would be wary of roasters who are selling FTO coffees at that price. The prices for unroasted coffee has been consistently climbing for the past year. Roasters are paying between $4-5 per lb. Keeping in mind that 15%+ of coffee weight is lost in the roast, it would be really difficult to make a living as a roaster selling coffees at a retail profit of $2-3 dollars per pound.

Anyway, good luck on your hunt. Maybe you could just invest in a Poppery popcorn popper or a small roaster (like the Behmor 1600) and roast you're own. You won't get fresher than that!

Actually, that FTO coffee of $4-5 plus 15% shrinkage (you only get 15%) plus bag plus freight plus utilities/labour/fixed costs plus roaster's profit plus retailers profit does not a $8 pound of coffee make.

What you can get is the commercial grade $2.40 coffee..........less if you go lower and last years crop.
