What is the best water to use for espresso?

Long time on the M/B......... I'm a lurker, but getting back into Espresso/Cappuccino...(decaffeinated)
I've been wondering, what is the best water to use for espresso?
Filtered tap water, bottled water distilled water ph index
Is less TDS water (total dissolved solids) better? (%)?

I remember seeing a thread that had a lot of discussion and suggestions about they types of water people use for making espresso, but I can't find it.

Here is a webpage that may be help answer your question.

In my Alex Duetto MkIV I use Volvic and buy it at either 3.50 for 6 x 1.5L or when on special 12 for 5

I have used Tesco Ashbeck as well. It is better for brewed than Volvic I find.

When you prepare coffee or espresso, you need to be conscious of the mineral content in the water that you are using. Since the preparation of (American) coffee and espresso are predicated on very different extraction techniques, the "best" water is different for coffee than it is for espresso
