The secret to delicious iced coffe?

Does anyone know the secret to making a great iced coffee like the one at Starbucks? I love my coffee, But during the summer in arizona I like to switch to Iced coffee. I would like to make my own at home but it keeps coming out to bitter.

Cold brewing is the way to go, imo. Toddy makes both home and commercial sized systems. (Home system costs around $35.) This method leaves the bitter component in the bean.I'm pretty sure Starbucks uses the Toddy system, too.

I have a coffee that is not bitter and recipe that I think is better than Starbucks and I do not have to have a special coffee maker.

lol@ eldub! Toddy Coffee Maker at Toddy Cafe: Cold Brew Coffee, Acid Coffee Low, Coffee Brewer, Best Coffee Maker Toddy brewing process takes away 3/4 of the acidity. Pour 1/3 of toddy concentrate into 2/3 milk and add a couple shots of flavored syrup...coffee cooler. I use my french press for making toddy. but if you want to make larger amounts check out the link above....let us know if you try it.

Well, Shirley hasn't been around since teasing us with her secret recipe, as far as I can tell.

I can give you the Toddy recipe, but I'm doubting that's the one you seek.
