I've tried a couple of home grinders and not had much luck this far because their "coarse" grind is still too fine for cold brewing and french press. The type of grind I'm looking for is what I would get using one of those commercial Grindmaster units at Sams club when I was buying the Starbucks beans and grinding in the store. Now that I am roasting my own beans at home, I'd like to get a similar grind, but not have to buy a huge commercial unit (and hopefully not spend the kind of money I've seen those units selling for).
Some units I'm considering for the sake of budgeting purposes because I just can't spend $500 on a grinder are:
Breville BCG800XL
Baratza Encore
Kitchenaid 7oz Pro Line
Capresso Infinity
I'm willing to go up to $200 or so, so does anyone have experience with this type of grind in any of the above machines or something else I've not listed that would be a good option?
