Hello! So, I have no experience whatsoever with espresso, but I really want to get to know the drink better. I have a good grinder and a french press, but no way of making espresso.

I've learned that coffee-related opinions seem to be highly varied and in my research I've found so many opposing thoughts.. I'd like to hear from you guys.

Again, I have no experience with espresso, and no clue what "good" or "bad" espresso tastes like. And my primary intention (for now) is not to just drink it, but to use it to make other drinks (mocha, macchiato, etc.) What is a good starter method to get acquainted with brewing espresso, and gaining familiarity with its taste? I've seen varied opinions on the Moka method, but it seems the most cost-effective for starting out... or am I better off saving for a $100-150 espresso machine? Does the aeropress actually produce espresso, or is that more of a marketing statement?

I am highly naive in this area, so I would greatly appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!
