can we use black beans in Delonghi perfecta

we just purchased a delonghi perfecta essam 5600 coffee machine and the manual saya not to use caramelized or sugar coated beans. are regularblack coffee beans ok to use

Regular coffee beans are ok to use.

Let's hope "black" is a figure of speech because that would mean they are burnt, over roasted, or worse.

That's the weirdest thing I've heard of in a coffee machine manual.

John, I think the "black" in the question is the OP's wording. The DeLonghi Perfecta Essam 5600 manual states what he is referencing to on page 14, bottom right. It just says, "Fill the container with coffee beans." Above that it says:

<Warning> Important! Do not use caramelised or candied coffee beans as they could stick to the coffee mill and make it unusable.

I agree, it is kind of weird that it even states that... I guess people have tried to brew caramelized or candied/chocolate covered coffee beans before with that machine.
