creama.jpgHere's a pic of the shot I just ran using 8gram grind, about 1 ounce, maybe a tad more. Please critique!

It's "crema"
Why not in a demitasse?

It's hard to diagnose shots due to the difference in screen and camera color capture capabilities, but it looks a little thin, and the light colored ring around the edges indicates overextraction, most likely due to improper distribution to the edges of the pf basket.

For 8g dry wt your shot should be between 8-12g brewed wt, and closer to .75 oz than greater than an ounce.

Practice!

It looks like crema but it's not, since your machine uses pressurized baskets what your seeing is "frothed" coffee/water, hence why it dissipates fast, is thin, and doesn't have mouthful of crema. That why their called fake "crema enhancers", to make it look like crema. Only possible with fresh beans, espresso grinder and normal basket, it's the emulsion of the coffee oils.

Need a better grinder and depressurized basket if you want to start seeing/taste good real crema.
