I dont have much experience with them, but when I did use it I really didn't enjoy the process and the taste wasn't as great as I was used to. I`d look towards a pump driven machine instead.

Not surprised... had one once, dumped it. The water is too hot when it's pushed up the middle spout to brew. Temperature control (below 100 deg C) plus a hydraulic pump is the way to go.

A friend of ours gave us one in Italy. I think it's from Ikea.

I think I like it more than the press because it's easier to brew a good cup and zero grains.

What I do is put water up to the screw thingy, then put finely ground coffee near brim fullness without packing it. Then onto the stove and I take it off once the bubbling sounds subside.

What I like about it is if you don't want espresso, all you need to do is add some hot water.
