Estro Profi cup height

My brother has an Estro Profi machine that he's cleaned up, repaired, and uses regularly. His one complaint is that he has no mugs short enough to fit under the portafilter when it's dispensing the espresso. I know a ceramics artist in Brooklyn that I would like to hire to make beautiful custom mugs that he can use with his machine. Can anyone who owns this machine help me so I can do this without ruining the surprise?

Chances are, he's using a standard PF. He might consider going with a bottomless PF, and he'll gain the distance used up by the spout.
