Hi!

I'm sourcing coffee from Central and South America. To be able to actually do a cupping and analyze the beans I need a roaster for the samples.

The roaster should be small, affordable but still high quality.

Do you have any suggestions? Any experiences you would like to share?

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for your advice and suggestions in advance. I appreciate it.

Lena

small, affordable - yes
high quality - expecting too much from small & affordable.

try behmor 1600 or Hario Glass RCR-50

they are $220 to $380 range.
they are good for about 40% of real high quality sample roasters which will cost you well over $7K and up.

I love my Kaldi home roaster. I was worried that it wouldn't last because of the price. I have roasted on it at least 2 times a week just for fun. One day I actually roasted 15 batches on it. I bought mine on Amazon. I also bought the butane burner there as well.

Hi Lena,

I recently bought a Quest M3 to use as a sample/profile roaster and have been happy with it.

It has good temp and airflow control and the ability to roast repeated batches.

Cost was about $1,400.

Good luck,

Matt
