Can a chromed portafilter be put in the dishwasher?

I have an Ascaso Steel Uno machine, and like many of it's class, the portafilter is chrome plated brass. I was wondering if to wash off the coffee residue I can put it in the dishwasher

I've never heard of anyone putting a portafilter in the dishwasher.

Does the user manual say it's okay to put it in the dishwasher, or does it recommend hand washing?

Considering that it's such a key part of the machine, it would be much safer to just wash it by hand.

The manual doesn't say either way. I was wondering because even after I wash it manually it still doesn't get entirely clean, and I was wondering if a dishwasher could be used once in a while instead/addition.
