Hi all,

Been reading through the forums and this is my first post, hoping to gain some knowledge and expertise from yall!

Ive been french pressing and using a drip machine for years - coffee is something I can't go a day without and want to learn more but also progress in terms of home roasting and eventually getting an espresso machine.

For home roasting... how is a 1lb drum for a gas grill for starters? I could get one new for 50% off (~$80)

What are the pros and cons of this method if I
- Want something affordable
- Durable
- Easy to clean up/store
- Creates consistent roasts

I roast on BBQ with a 10lb capacity drum. Once you get the hang of it, you can get a pretty consistent roast out of it. Just make sure everything is level, including the bean mass.

You will want to get a motor that spins faster than the standard bbq grill rotisserie.
