Finally my home burr grinder Kapputted!!!!

I had a home burr grinder for few years and unfortunately, my potato-head Son dropped it on the floor last night and "broke" it completely!

so, I need to buy another one ASAP. I have a couple of blade grinder, but I am certain that my wife will complain until I buy a new one.

even though I am in coffee business, I do not like to spend a lot of money for home burr grinder, so what would be the best candidates for under $100 and between $100 to $200 range?

    please let me know.
    thanks

Since you really liked the one you had, is it possible to find the same thing or something similar? On Amazon maybe ?

no. I didn't like that one that much.
I mean it was good for medium fine to coarse.
but it wasn't giving me very fine & fine grinds for espresso making.
so, I think I need to buy a bit better one.
previously, my wife bought a lower priced one at around $70.00. again, it works okay for filtered, aeropress and cold brew. but not at all good for espresso of any kind.

yes, I know. most of burrs are from China, but just like everything else, there are many different quality of burrs.
China can produce some of the worst products, but also they manufacture some of the best.

so, we can not just say "all China made products are bad or all are good".

I think it's hard to beat the Baratza line for the best bang for the buck. I originally purchase the Baratza Virtuoso (out of your budget - $230) for home use. But it now resides in my mobile pour-over setup... it continues to be a workhorse. Super impressed with the quality. Although it's not stepless I cand find a grind that suits my needs (obviously not great for espresso being stepped).

I have also heard the new line of Oxo grinders aren't bad for the money but I have no experience with them.

oh, yeah.... China makes whole lot of ceramic burrs. I was given two (hand-grinder) before.... but too much work for my wife. she never uses them.
she want something.... "push a button" and get her coffee cup. then. Viola~ ready to go...
    that is what she wants.
