Faema Family pump noise - normal?

Hi

I recently freed a stuck vibe pump on a Faema Family that I was given, and it seems to work well. The pump, however, seems really loud compared to the Starbucks Barista I normally use. I think the noise is close to what my old Saeco Superautomatica was like, but the Superautomatica was pretty ancient, so I don't know if the extra noise is due to age, wear, or design. Are these machines usually noisy, or is the Barista unusually quiet? Any comments greatly appreciated.
