Greetings fellow coffee aficionados...

My question is, does anybody know about a machine much like the Brasilia KILLO, that can achive 5lts of espresso out of 1kg of ground coffee in 30 seconds. The Brasilia is the only one I have found, but i can't concieve that this is the only one in the world.

I need this in order to start a small business sellling coffee extracts to different food companies.

Please reply........

I have read some literature on this machine, as well as Brasilla's mini freeze-dry granulation system that can make instants. From all I have read this is a compact and good quality machine that can produce 1000lt of "espresso" a day. Obviously in this context espresso is a bit different that what we are pulling in shops, but similar enough to still be classed as espresso. Below is an interesting article I found on a NZ site by Jonathon Bell

Technology - High Volume Espresso
By Jonathan Bell

Many of the coffee industry’s new systems are for personal cup-bycup serving, eachseeking the most convenient and quickest methods of service. Some strive to dothis while also protecting the quality parameters of coffee in the cup — be it frompercolators, filter brewers or from espresso machines. With espresso moving on rapidly to become a worldwide drink that is increasinglyan available option to coffee consumers, in varying forms and adjusted to differentdrinking traditions and cultures, it is not surprising that much of the recent changesin coffee delivery and equipment, roasting and processing, should relate directly toespresso. It is the growth coffee drink of our times.Brasilia, based in Italy, has been one of the leading innovators for years in theespresso industry. The company has been a pioneer in pod making equipment, through its Gino Rossi subsidiary. As a trademark ‘Brasilia’ has also led in focusing on the espresso brewing andgrinding equipment requisite for applying the new technologies to the actualities ofcup service. This position in pioneering remains a driving force in Brasilia’s businessdevelopment.New ideas there seem to regularly become realities. Nevertheless, its latest conceptis so revolutionary that it catches one’s breath.PDF Created with deskPDF PDF Writer - Trial :: http://www.docudesk.com

What Brasilia now unveils is tantamount to a brave new world in high volume, highly controlled, taste oriented, genuine espresso coffee; a liquid production thatcan be further processed to enter important allied coffee product markets. This striking innovation must be understood first in its parts. Only then can one putits new realm of factory production possibilities into place and see their significance.First and foremost, Brasilia has brought forth a liquid espresso coffee brewingsystem for high volume production; this is the patented KILO machine.Explaining the KILO in a coffee business magazine for worldwide distribution, andtoo the striking add-on options recently developed to give this industrial systemmaximum mass production value, are not so easy. Much of the technology used issophisticated, unique, and highly protected by Brasilia — understandably so.Despite its looks, one can liken the KILO to a large espresso machine, except thatinstead of serving up cup-after-up it pours forth a high quantity of fresh-beanextracted, liquid espresso for a variety of mass produced, espresso-coffee baseddrinks and foods.Despite what it can achieve, the KILO, as can be seen, is scaled down in size. It issmall enough to fit into quite modest factory quarters. As well, it thus requires lessenergy than previous larger units. A single operator can also run it.According to Brasilia, the KILO achieves a high value-return in coffeebean-to liquidproduction ratio. It offers a reduction from 20-25% in the amount of beans require— against previous industrial standards — to achieve equivalent liquid turnout.PDF Created with deskPDF PDF Writer - Trial :: http://www.docudesk.com

In other words, Brasilia is touting the KILO as paying for itself in reduced space, energy, labor and coffee bean overhead. The KILO produces, to its own highcriteria, a genuine liquid Italian espresso coffee, even if in industrial volume, and asnoted from fresh roasted beans.KILO’s espresso liquid coffee from fresh roast is brewed by six balanced boilersproviding a constant temperature. The pressure bar for extraction is again aconstant, being maintained by three high capacity volumetric pumps.Just as on a bar espresso machine, the KILO can be controlled for dosing, pressureand temperature attributes. The large filter receptacle itself is fabricated by a lasercutting process that makes it as finetuned — for preserving coffee qualities duringextraction — as a good filter holder handle on a bar machine.Unlike most espresso bar machines, however, for its industrial users the KILO canalso be adjusted for extraction time and volume. Volume is of key importance.According to Brasilia’s performance data sheet, the KILO can turn one kilo ofroasted coffee beans into five liters of hot liquid espresso in 30 seconds. Measuredin espresso cups, this means a production volume of 160 cups. In liquid volume, the KILO stands to potentially pour forth 1,000 liters of pure espresso per day.Factory running of the KILO is for sourcing espresso coffee that can then be used toproduce canned espresso beverages, providing bag-in-box liquid coffee for coffeeshop or HORECA coffee dispensers, and for use in sundry food industries. Forexample, KILO espresso can source several coffee-based confections, such as icecream, pastry creams, chocolates, etc. KILO is ‘new,’ in terms of traditional coffeetechnology, but it is has already been on the market for industrial users. What is quite new now is what Brasilia has devised to fully realize the KILO’scapacity ‘downstream.’ In the coffee factory this opens a universe of productpossibilities. To add a multiplicity of usage for KILO liquid espresso, Brasilia has created whatcan be termed a ‘mini’ soluble plant, plus a mini freeze-dried plant. These areindeed miniature factories unto themselves, although via KILO they can be turnedto big espresso product businesses.Given its size, as with the KILO, the soluble production line can fit into virtually anycoffee factory. The soluble product is obtained by using the pressurized‘nano-filtration’ system, said to actually enrich the original coffee flavors andaromas that have been safeguarded by KILO.This soluble in-your-pocket line can stand alone or double up with Brasilia’s CoffeeFreeze-Drying ‘line in-your-hand.’ Brasilia engineered its miniaturized freeze-dryingunit by employing an innovative system of ultrasonic vibrations affecting the solublecoffee in a expanded nitrogen ambient. This virtually instantaneously nebulizes theliquid coffee, freezing it and encapsulating it into micro drops. Each miniscule dropof espresso is measurable in a range of from 300 to 400 microns in diameter. The freeze-dried production is said to be advantageous due to the shorterlyophilizing cycle, as well as to the reduced factory area required to achieve it. Theproduct itself is said to show improved solubility in both hot and cold water

That must be some portafilter.

I know all about the Brasilia Kilo even the 165,000 Euros it costs. I need to find out if anybody else knows if there is anothe machine like it in the world, or if anybody knows what kind of machine I'd have to use to get high volume extractions.
