Nespresso...is it espresso's answer to a Keurig?

I understand I'll be stuck with whatever offerings are available from the manufacturer but is the espresso finished product as good as people are claiming? I basically need something to drop 2-4 shots into either an iced mocha or a frappucino type blended drink, how cost effective and reasonable a purchase at $179 for the pixie would this be? I've read a ton of horror stories about these things leaking too, that something anyone had experience with?
