Water Softening Equipment for an espresso machine.

Help!!! Can anyone give me some advice as to what kind of filter and water softening equipment i need for the Rancillio Epoca 2 group semi automatic. I 'm hearing a lot of different views and the price range is from about $350 to $2000.
I greatly appreciate any advice.

Ultimately it depends on the water hardness. For simple point of use (just the machine) something like this will work fine for most applications and just requires replacing...

A 2 group machine indicates a commercial application, so if you'd like to soften all water to be used for the espresso machine, a drip machine, an icemaker, water heater etc. I'd recommend something on a larger scale such as a wholehouse unit. There are multiple filter applications such as this...

WATER SOFTENING but you end up spending alot of $ in the long run on replacement filters. This is where I'd recommend a whole house softening unit. May cost more up front, but will pay for itself.
