Hello, I'd like for everyone who's surfing the site and has something to do with the great coffee industry to introduce yourself in this thread and let everyone in our industry forum know about yourself. We're building a community and within our community we need to know each other and let each other know how we can help each other grow and succeed.

Larissa, a question: I know that a woman never tells her age or always subtracts a "few" years. 21??? By the way, do you have a Russian background?

I know this may come as a shock, but there really are 21 year olds in the world. They are all over the place in fact. I think the women that lie about their age are usually old enough that they are worried about it, I am no where near that point yet. And no, no russian, My mom just liked the name. I thought we were introducing ourselves though and you didn't tell us anything about yourself. So please, do tell.

    Hi Larissa

Welcome to the coolest forum around. I have been stopping in for about 6 months and have learned alot just by reading the posts. There are some members here who will blow you away with what they know about coffee. Also from time to time we get a chump or two. About me, I am husband to Tammy and Dad to Emma age 5 (See her web page) www.caringbridge.com/page/emmahall and Dylan 20 months. I own www.mightybeancoffee.com and attend college part time and work full time for a company that makes parts for old gas guzzeling hi powered and polluting american muscle cars. I want to eventually be a roaster but as with all things we have to work up to the point were we can afford some equipment. So for know intermediary is the way to go. Coffee is a funny business to be in people are fickle but thats cool that why I got into it.

    Hi All

I'm Sean...of Seattle Gourmet Coffee. We are a family owned coffee roasting company in the Seattle area. My brother in law and sister in law and I have been around for 10 years now. We first started off with one drive thru espresso stand without the help of others back then. So we came through the ranks the hard way. Made a lot of mistakes, but then the Lord showed us the way after countless times of doing things wrong. Over the last 9 years we have owned and operated 5 drive thru locations, but are now down to two. Too many headaches with too many locations unless you franchise. But the three we sold are still customers of ours. We continue to run our businesses like family. We love our employees and treat them like like our own daughters. We usually have outings during most weekends when wheather permits. After all we have to take advantage of good wheather when we get it We started with partners in Miami in the beginning which trained us and taught us the coffee industry and up until Jan 2003 we purchased our own Diedrich Coffee Roaster and BOY!!! I thought I didn't have a life before I really don't have one now! Over the last several years we found a great nitch, that was to help others get into this great industry. We specialize in consulting and training the first timer in opening their own locations. Of course we want the coffee business, nothings for free But we've been successful in providing others with the assistance that we didn't have when we first started. In fact our newest customer just opened a drive thru in Binghampton, NY!!! She's only been open about 7 weeks and she's loving it. Well now, I'm starting to ramble, better let someone else chime in. But before I go I must give a shameless plug...Visit our website at www.seattlegourmetcoffee.com
