Hi everyone,
I have been working on a concept (Patent Pending) for an online coffee bean exchange that would allow small roasters/independent shops to exchange beans with one another in order to sample new sources, experiment with new roasts, feature specials for a limited time, etc. The issue that was presented to me by people in the industry is that it can be costly to import small batches, and even harder to gain access to some sources without the right connections. If a new coffee shop/roaster wants to get a hold of new beans, there seems to be only the established option of importing from a large middleman at a cost. Does this sound like something that the industry would utilize?
There is much more information that will go into this, but at this time I'm not looking to discuss every aspect.
