I'm on the cusp of buying an new grinder. We've been using 3, 1hp grinders and our volume is just getting too much for them. They are a bottleneck.

I've been looking at the Mahlkonig DK grinders and MPE's GPX grinder. A friend in NY has a GPX and seeing that in action I was impressed. Then a gentleman I met at the coffee show in Dublin, who is a representative for an Italian line of industrial coffee roasters basically said, 'I've got no dog in this fight but after 40 years in the business and everything I've seen and heard the Mahlkonig is very good but I'd go with the MPE.'

Based on those two recommendations I'm leaning toward MPE. And now I'm considering the water-cooled option for the MPE. MPE claims this grinds coffee 75% cooler than the non water-cooled machine. To me that means a better product for the consumer.

Has anyone had experience with (1) water-cooled grinding and (2) the MPE GPX grinder and/or GPX grinder with water-cooled option?
