    cafe crema

For customers who want just a cup of coffee, would it be better to use a super automatic espresso machine to make cafe crema or even an Americano rather than using a drip coffee maker like a Fetco or Bunn?

Make Americano if you choose not to have drip.
    I wouldn't recommend SuperAuto.
If you choose SuperAuto... then add the Fetco brewer,
it will produce a superior cup.

cafe crema as a Swiss-style 6 to 8 oz coffee drink made by using espresso machine? You would have to alter your setting quite a bit, and the coffee beans you use may not be suitable for both cafe crema and espresso. Americano is much easier. Are you considering not offering dripped at all?

Yeah, that is the idea. After the initial setup, I believe the setting would be automatic with a Super Auto machine. You would use the bypass doser/preground coffee chute on the Super Auto for a blend better suited for the Cafe crema/Swiss-style (this would also work for decaf orders).

A hot, fresh, made to order cup of coffee would seem to be preferable and more appreciated by a customer than a pump or two from an airpot which could have been brewed hours ago. Even if you brew fresh every hour, pity the poor customer who plunks down a couple of bucks for a cup brewed 50 minutes ago. Plus, if you are fastidious, and change the airpot every hour, how much stale coffee do you pour down the drain? Seems this might be a way to prevent waste and lost profit.

I don't have any experience with super automatic, but if yours can do so without much alteration then that is an alternative to drip. Other made to order alternatives are French Press; if you have a nice bank account, Clover.
