Does anyone have any experience with using a 3 phase roaster in North America. Looking for pros and cons on both. Are any additional certifications needed for a 3 phase roaster?

first of all, do you have 3 phase at your location? i have used 3 phase 220v on hi hp machinery (not roasters) in the U.S. it is supposedly more economical than 110. don't think you would need a "certification" for that.
pros: more economical
cons: more costly to install (if you don't already have it)

I'm wondering if the OP is thinking of an electric roaster, as opposed to propane or NG.

If this is for gas roaster, it really doesn't matter if it is 220 or 110. If you are using electric roaster, that makes big difference.

It is for a gas 15kg roaster. I've been told as it is coming out of Europe that the 3 phase isn't certified where as the 1 phase is. The 3 phase would be easier on the motors but seems like most companies in North America go with a 1 phase and don't have too many issues with this.

Three phase motors are much stronger and durable but in US it will be harder to install since you can't just plug in and use it.

just take out the 3ph. motor and put in a 110 or 220v single ph. motor. should be fairly easy and inexpensive.
