For those of you running a USRC 12kg machine, how small of a batch have you found it can handle?

I've heard as little as one pound, but I'm just wondering how many have found that to be the case.

For what its worth... the two guys I talked with extensively before purchasing - they both felt about 3 lbs was the minimum they could roast and keep consistent profiles. Much less than that they didn't feel they were getting accurate temp reading. Assuming your roasting multiple coffees in a session, start with your smallest batch size.

I have a 12K machine, its not a USRC but I roast 2lb batches on it for development as I don't have a sample roaster. The bean probe reads the temp, but its not exactly accurate, and the sampler is able to grab samples. So long as I take good notes it works out to find the right degree of roast. I adjust the airflow by looking at the beans, but cant hold the temp reading to airflow changes.
