Hey Folks,

Just looking for feedback - I'm intrigued by the Merlin. The size is ideal for our company (33 lbs batch size) and apparently, it doesn't need an afterburner.

Does anyone have any experience on them? What have you heard?

I know george howell jumped on the loring quickly after they first came out, and he's got more 90+ coffees than anyone. In addition the foremost japanese barista champion uses one in her cafe/roastery. If I'm not mistaken equator coffee has one as well. They also cost bank, if I'm not mistaken, but use a fraction of the fuel.In other words, I want one too, but that's for later. :D

They are expensive. But I hate idea of shelling out cash for an afterburner, when it won't add to my production capability and cost more $$ ongoing.

RE; Equator Coffee, I think they have 4 smart roasters.

I've called the company and spoken with (Mark?). According to him, because the thing burns so clean, you never have to clean your stack. My little 35 pounder has 2 stacks, and I'm gonna scrub them out this weekend. Not the worst job ever. But...

'cides, it's a sexy looking machine - which is essential in a coffee roaster.
