Is an Aeropress that much better?

After years of using a french press as my standard brewing equipment, I made the switch to a Hario V60 pour over. I love my V60, however, one thing I miss about the press is the flavors and extraction of the oils that using a paper filter in my V60 just absorbs. I have been looking into the Aeropress with the Able stainless steel disk because I have heard that it will let the oils through as well. My question is, does anyone use the Aeropress and the Able Disk together and is it that much better than just using my V60 and worth the investment? Would love the help. Thanks!

While I do not use one, a friend thinks that it is a pain in the @ss and offers no real difference from a french press. I generally use a french press or a vac pot. I do not have one of the new vac pots that take forever to make one cup but one of the old old ones that makes an actual pot of coffee.
