Used coffee grounds and moles

My yard is a dangerous place just to walk upon. It is spongy from all the mole tunnels and seriously, I've twisted my ankle and knees more than once just mowing and tripping due to the mole tunnels. I've heard many animals do not like coffee grounds from the odor, I assume. A couple of weeks ago, I started putting my used grounds in a small area of the yard that was real bad from mole activity. I'm happy to say that small area is much better today. I can definitely tell a difference. Now, I may have to start hitting up all my local coffee shops to get more grounds for my entire yard.

Really? very interesting. my wife use "used grounds" to kill bad odors in the frige. I wonder whether it will work for my ant problems....mmmm

Hi Janry,

I'm glad the coffee grounds are helping the mole problem. My neighbor tried it, and it didn't work for him. The moles kept making their tunnels anyway. He ended up hiring a landscaper to take care of the problem.
