Hello all. Brand new to using a burr grinder and. Rand new to the forums. I have. A question about the grounds I'm getting out of it

Why are my grounds coming out like this? Is it normal? Never seen this before

Almost looks like light colored husks or something. It seems weird to me. It's came out like this with the two different types of coffee I have tried so far

Chaff.. roasted coffee skin. Seems like more than you should get.

It happens, but that much does not seem like a conscientious roaster. Perhaps the roaster you purchased beans from doesn't let the beans spend enough time in the cooling tray.. or the chaff removal for this particular roast on these particular beans is more difficult.

Or it could be zombie coffee.:coffee1:

it is perfectly normal to have some chaff in the coffee (that does look like a lot though). How does the coffee taste? It shouldn't affect the flavor. I have a friend who roasts and doesn't really put much effort into chaff removal, just gets rid of the big stuff that blows off naturally. It is very hard to get all the chaff out after roasting.
