Forum Roasters Coffee Review/Experiments/Drinking Methods.. Might be fun & interestin

I have tried quite a few great coffees from forum roasters, specially from JumpinJakJava (Bob) PeterJSchmidt and Encore (Mike).

In this threads, I am planning to buy some of their best coffees and do some testing, experimenting with different methods of my own. And planning to post photos, methods, results, my own comments (I am not an super expert, but I think that I am "okay" enough to be doing this).

I can compare different coffees from different forum roasters, colors, roasting style, how even they are, how fresh, coffee bag's presentation, information about the coffee and so on....Also, I can do some "cupping", V60, AeroPress, Vacuum (two years ago, I bought one from CoffeeJunky, but I only used few times...so perfect time to use it again), regular brew coffee by Bonavita (which my wife got from mother's day gift)...etc

Come to think of it, it could take weeks and weeks to do it properly.
but after this, most of forum members will know who are our forum member roasters and their coffee and roasting style,....etc and be able to purchase from our forum roasters rather than some iffy on-line coffee sellers.

Charlie from "Chast" also want to do this even though he does not have on-line sales. If he has paypal acct, I can just pay him and he can use USPS to send it to me. Easy.

anyway, let me know what you think and if you have any other suggestions, I am all ears!!!!

Haha! My only thought is how long did it take you to find that pic? Someone has a lot of spare time

Today, I got couple of bags of great coffees from PeterJSchmidt. The Excellent Cup - Premium Roasted Whole Bean Artisan Coffee
Bali Kintamani (Natural) & Kenya AB (Peaberry)

Peter packed them very well and it only took 3 days for me to receive them.
In few days, I will be receiving some more great coffees from Jumpinjakjava (Bob), so until then, I will be playing around (& enjoying immensely) with Peter's coffee.

I have not had Natural one for very very long time, so I decided on Bali Kintamani.
    Pour Over Method.

The roasting was absolutely perfect. Light/Medium (my favorite), Very very evenly roasted without any kind of defective beans at all. Not even one. (maybe Peter had his children pick out the bad beans all night long, just for me :+)

Med/Coarse Burr Grind. (By the way, I do not really measure 1:16 ratio. I like them bit stronger. ... a lot stronger.)

On the back of the bag, there is a description of the coffee profile.
Peter said "almost carbony sugar tones". : Exactly what I tasted it with very strong fruit note & very heavy body & mouth feel.

"A deep, Brooding character overall" : Peter, What a perfect description of this coffee.

Great Coffee to start this thread.!
    thanks Peter.
