    What are "healthier" coffee alternatives????

I shouldn't be posting this because I am a coffee addict and I am in the business, but "in case" if there is no coffee (perhaps due to global warming...etc), what would be "healthier" alternatives?

I researched about this a bit and they said that "Teeccino" is at #1 healthier choice.

personally, I have never had it.
so, I checked the definition of it : Teeccino Caffeine-free Herbal Coffee (tee CHEE no) is a delicious blend of herbs, grains, fruits and nuts that are roasted and ground to brew and taste just like coffee. Coffee lovers are attracted to Teeccino's full-bodied, dark roasted flavor and its nutritious health benefits.

it says "taste just like coffee".???

    Has anyone tried this?

I just ordered this teeccino via amazon just now.
I have been drinking instant coffee since 4 days ago in China, so when i get home this Saturday, this teeccino will be at home.
after tasting, evaluating, photos...etc, I will post my comments here.

since all teeccinos are caffeine free, I might drop in few caffeine pills, just to spice it up, ha ha ha

    Alex,

I really hope that by creating this thread, you're not opening up a can of worms here on the Coffee Forum.

We've finally gotten the SPAM "healthy coffee" posters under control (deleted and banned them). And we really don't want to encourage people to try to sell their "healthy" coffees here.

    We'll see what happens.

sorry. I have not thought about that.
it is not that important, so if you wish, you can delete this thread.
    no problem for me. :+)
    thanks

    ALex,

When you get a chance to try the coffee, please let us know the results. I'm not expecting you to like it one tiny bit.

I'm surprised you took another chance and ordered it from Amazon. I'm pretty sure you swore that you learned a huge lesson the last time you tried that.

Lost my interest at "dark roast flavor".

I'm not sure but I would guess once these ingredients are ground they would be similar to coffee beans being ground and start loosing the initial flavor but I'm assuming here because it doesn't say on the bag if it's pre-ground or not, still it will be interesting to hear his comments.

As I promised, well to myself, I got this "teeccino" for my own evaluation.
considering what's in it, of course, it was grounds of something that I have not seen from coffee industry.
it says "french roast organic"... I do not know how they can define this, specially organic? this is mix of several "herbs" including a lot of chicory.
also, it says "intense, deep coffee notes". Not even close. When I "cup" it, I could not get a single favorable coffee note from this teeccino.
also, it says that "kick the caffeine habit in 2 weeks". I highly doubt it.

I made my favorite AP out of this teeccino.
the ground smells of ashy, chicory and some kind of Chinese medicine. Also very sweet smell.
when I tasted it, the sweet is gone, but still very chicory and ashy (almost like mild cigarette smell/taste), cinnamon. And strong Chinese medicine.
After taste was heavy, bitter and taste bit like Vicks vapor.

I just could not drink it black, so I put some sugar... no use. same cupping notes with sweetness...
$10 wasted!!!! ($10 invested and learned something new :+)
