Volcanic soil is another God given factor for good coffee and other fruits. The reason both Hawaii and Indonesia have the best coffees.

Hawaiian Kona coffee is nothing much special. They do not have any high grade varietal, nor exceptional micro climate.
however, their coffee is very clean due to really well managed and maintained wash process and sorting process.

not many people picks out Indonesian coffee as their favorite coffee. I mean nothing wrong with Indonesian/sumatra coffee, but if you do not mind, can you give us your personal reason for liking sumatra over Ethiopia or Kenya?
    thanks

well.... florida could be an awesome place to grow coffee only if it would had...
mountains with micro climate & volcanic soil & high altitude (about 5000 feet) and finally with distinctive rainy and dry season for coffee plants to grow properly.

    PNG & Jamaica???
if you do not mind, would you kindly elaborate on those two regions?
because I have never seen PNG as the best second region.
as for Jamaica, 90% goes to Japan mainly because 80% of Jamaican farms are owned by Japanese and they love smooth low acidity coffee. but IMO, not really special about Jamaican coffees. what is your take on this Jamaican blue mountain coffee?
