    Drinking coffee promotes weight loss? Is it harmful to our body?

    Coffee, a drink made from roasted coffee beans, is one of the most popular drinks in the world. Served in many ways, available in many varieties, it is still the subject of research by many scientists. Some results suggest its harmful effect on human health, others indicate its pro-health properties. How is coffee for weight loss?


    Coffee brewed in any way - no matter if it is instant, brewed or made from the coffee machine, it does not contain calories, so it does not provide energy to our body. Calories can be provided by additives that we add to it - sugar, cream or milk. Such an "enriched" version can deliver even several hundred of them in one cup. Does this mean that if someone cares about the line, he can only drink the black unsweetened version? Not necessarily. It all depends on the choice of additives. For whitening, it is good to use skimmed, skimmed milk, and natural sweeteners such as stevia or xylitol for sweetening, and not to add liqueurs or flavored syrups - then we do not provide calories, and we will soften the corresponding and quite intense taste of the drink.


    Many studies suggest that drinking coffee in moderate amounts slightly speeds up metabolism and increases fat burning. By drinking up to three cups a day, we can burn several dozen more calories during the day. In most people, coffee consumption suppresses the appetite, which is especially important for people who feel increased hunger while dieting. If someone wants to lose weight temporarily - caffeine as a diuretic will cause dehydration, and hence weight loss - which may be important, for example, for athletes when weighing before a competition. However, this is not a healthy feature of coffee and it is not a slimming property. Fat tissue does not disappear, even though the weight scale shows a little less. This is the result of some water being removed from the tissues.


    With higher consumption of the drink, the slimming properties of this drink are not more intense, but there are more negative effects of drinking coffee. Apart from the feeling of anxiety and nervousness, it causes problems with falling asleep or staying asleep at night. When drunk in larger amounts, it flushes magnesium and calcium out of the body (to minimize this property, it is worth whitewashing the drink with milk). Coffee also slows iron absorption and causes heartburn in some people.


    In addition to regular coffee, it is worth mentioning grain and green coffee in terms of weight loss. The first one is much healthier, devoid of caffeine, and thus most of the negative effects of coffee consumption, while maintaining similar slimming properties. In addition, cereal coffee contains some fiber and does not cause stomach discomfort that drinking regular coffee can cause. Green coffee is made from coffee beans, but they are not roasted. The taste is quite sour, so hardly anyone drinks it as an infusion. However, it is recommended as a dietary supplement in capsules, which increases the loss of unnecessary kilograms.


    When drunk in moderate amounts - up to about three to four cups a day, coffee does not cause negative effects on the body. With the right diet and the inclusion of physical activity - whether in the form of an infusion or in the form of capsules - it helps to burn excess body fat.
