Edit: I also meant to ask what a deal does to perceived value? Does offering 50% off make you think the deal is too good (and therefore the product has less value)? Our site is new so we are just wanting traffic right now so we're willing to make really good offers.

I suppose a lot of it depends on what you are selling. With Internet shopping what it is, comparison shopping becomes the way to find the best bottom lien on some items. Other times it is about customer service before and after the sale.

Thanks for the input so far. We've also asked the question on our Facebook page and free shipping seems to prevail so we'll start with that.

i think the value that customer get last will be the most important.
