Nice to meet you all.
I am a coffee lover from Indonesia currently living in California.

I am learning and trying to start my own roasting.
Any advice is welcomed.

Welcome to the forum, seems it's rather slow since you posted this yesterday and no replies until mine.

Good luck, will be following your post. Interested in what's involved to DIY.

Hello. Good luck on the roasting, I started roasting my own beans about a year ago and since then I have only bought maybe two or three pounds of pre-roasted beans (more at the beginning when the coffee I roasted was horrible). My first few batches were awful but have since gotten the hang of it and not only does it taste better than the pre-roasted stuff but WAY cheaper.

1) Buy a hot air popcorn popper. Actually buy two so you won't be left in a lurch when you burn out the first

2) Buy a colander to cool down your beans

3) Navigate over to Sweet Maria's and binge read the entire site in one sitting

Then you are off the the races with home roasting. Enjoy.
