Let's share tips how to make our online life secure

    Guys, coffee lovers
Let's share some security tips. While surfing the web I constantly stumble upon different articles about various vulnerabilities found in apps or OS. Let's share tips how to make our online life secure ) it's a pity that we don't have a separate section about security ((

I'll start if you don't mind! Recently my friend who is a programmer at one research center shared a really interesting article with me. Here it is https://positive-tech.com/research/s...rability-2018/. To tell you the truth I was rather surprised (to put it mildly) when I got it to know (( if it is true (and I suppose it is coz my friend is an awesome security specialist) then almost any account theoretically can be hacked and this fact makes me really sad because I don't have a clue how to stand this thing (((

Here's a tip. Never use your debit card for purchases, either online or in a store. Credit cards get hacked all the time. If you use your debit card, all you're doing is giving someone access to your hard earned cash and will have to fight to get it back. At least with a credit card, you file a claim, they credit card company investigates and you don't have to pay the bill unless they find that you lied to them.

After being a Moderator on this Coffee Forum for many years, I've learned to NEVER click a suspicious link that's in a post, especially if it's from a new person who just joined the Forum.

It is best to check the URL first before you click on it, because if you don't, it may lead you to a place where you don't want to go.

Copy and paste the URL into Google's page to see if the website is safe:
    https://transparencyreport.google.co...g/search?hl=en

Norton also has a URL checker - where you can look up a website and get their rating:
    https://safeweb.norton.com/

    Here's another one:
    https://www.urlvoid.com/

You'd be surprised at how many "bad" links I've found in posts. It pays to be careful.

I try to open sites carefully and not download unfamiliar files. There are malicious sites.
