It may work OK, but I personally like to stick with products that are designed for coffee related cleaning. For example, I know people that use all sorts of cleaners such as dishwasher detergent for cleaning espresso machine accessories and even backflushing with it. Not me! I bought a concentrated liquid called Clearly Coffee ( I think it's made by Urnex) and use it for all cleaning. I simply dilute 1tsp to 1 qt. of water and soak all items such as baskets, portafilters, screens, carafes, etc. It works great and rinses away quickly with no left behind taste. Later!
