View entire thread: Mobile Espresso Units

I worked at a place that was serviced by a mobile espresso van. Brought very expensive coffee drinks and a standard array of over-priced donuts, rolls and cupcakes three or more times a week. Always about mid-morning. Staff treated it as a coffee break. They offered coffee drinks with frappucino, fattening sauces and so on. The woman who ran it was very friendly - I think that's key - to make a special connection with your regular customers. The woman ran it for years although the coffee itself left much to be desired.

This is the type of introspection that certainly deserves a warm welcome.
The coffee forum member that dares to venture beyond such a topic as "How many cups do you drink?".

You won't find any of his books on my shelves, but posts like Mr. Larson's are absolutely a part of the coffee chatter that I like to see. Give me something to ponder while I'm getting my morning coffee buzz on.

While still observing forum rules, we should be allowed to venture off topic a bit and share some of the inner workings of the human mind. After all, doesn't a coffee break offer a chance to relax and get our thoughts together?

Too bad it's been nearly a year since his last post......

View entire thread: How Important is Foot Traffic??

Posted by Bigdog on 2005-03-23 09:55:55      Post Subject: foot traffic counts

I think that you might be surprised at the amount of foot traffic...
get out there early in the am and count people going to work etc, service deliveries. Say 0630-0900. That will give you a good idea of your opening time and also what you can expect to start your day with... next coffee break times and lunch tmes. I used to shut down at 1600 (4pm) when I was located in a medical building. Just a suggestion.

I'm in the Philadelphia area (northwest suburbs) and I've got a 2006 Seattle Truck in the shop right now. I'll be flying out to get it and drive it back in about a month.

There is a big music festival tradition around here, weekend events and week long events. Add the antique shows, dog shows, horse shows, etc. I plan to specialize in parking at events, though I am in a (formerly rural) county where development is out of control, so there are a lot of construction sites for condos and townhouses where dozens of construction workers are at each location, so I plan to go for the weekday coffee break scene too.

I'm planning to pull a pop-up camper during the festival season, and will not be adverse to going most anywhere, as long as gas and permits don't make it too marginal.

I've been working on my website, basically a graphics-heavy "flyer" to entice bookings in promotional/catering venues. I'd be grateful for a comment from anyone viewing this thread, re: legibility, resolution, enhancements, content, anything. Thanks in advance
