Post Subject: My morning coffee...
I get up each morning and make my coffee using a Krups 229-4G Aroma Control 10-Cup. I like it on the strong side and normally use starbucks french roast or espresso roast in the whole bean form. The first cup is usually pretty good. I use the Nestle coffee mate refridgerated creamers (usually hazelnut, amaretto, or pralines & cream), but the second cup is decidedly not as good. I use a non burr cheepo grinder for the beans. I think what I would like to do is make enough coffee for two 12 ounce cups in the morning. I have never used a french press, but I was thinking of looking into that. I''m really not sure what to do, does anyone have any suggestions. To give you an idea of the flavor that I am going for I should say that I normally order a Venti Latte with 3 shots of espresso and 7 pumps of hazlenut and skim milk. Thanks for the suggestions.

We use coffee mate quite often in our house. Recently I saw that Nestle has put out a squeezable Sweetened-condensed milk product out (usually used for baking) but it wasn't as 'smooth' as the coffee mate! Maybe it has MSG or something in it,
but I seem to prefer coffee mate over any other kind of powder, milk or creme product.
I know I am strange

Thanks for the response. Was just talking to one of my wife's girlfriends today and she told me that her husband takes a 4 shot espresso in the morning before leaving to work and she will drink a pot of coffee herself before noon. She recommended the regular Kirkland brand at Costco along with some Coffee Mate French Vanilla. At least that's what she likes. Not sure if that would be a good place to start or not.

We did extensive research and found that most base mixes are primarily non-dairy coffee creamer. Just mix Coffee Mate powder with milk and ice, and your flavor, (and espresso) and blend in a Blend Tec 20 amp Smoother blender.
Well, you don't have to use that blender, but it will blend Hot Wheels cars and golf clubs into a fine dust. I was impressed enough to buy one...

if there is a slight vanilla impression to it, then this vanilla taste probably comes from an added material called Vanillin, this is used in most vanilla type products (is cheap and plentiful).
"the coffee mate! Maybe it has MSG or something in it" , the smoothness will Not be MSG (mono-sodium glutamate) but the protein peptides that will give the rich smoothness.

Yes - I had three different beans: Columbian, Sumatra and Nicaraguan. Sold 4 or 5 bags (12oz) all the same price/$9. Coffee we sold by the cup was 12hrs old (too fresh). At the last minute the night before I realized I had roasted a day before to sell by the bag but roasted nothing to sell buy the cup so I roasted more Friday night to sell ground and fresh brewed – grinding about 21g per 16 oz cup – yield in that cup is really only about 12-14oz depending on how full you fill the cup. Brew time was a little slow based on most customers think they should just come up and pour themselves a cup of coffee from an airpot. I told them "like Emmeril says on his cooking show, "where really cooking here.."" and that it would be about 3min wait. Most didn't mind.
Coffee was very hot and flavor was best after about 10-15 minutes cool down time in the cup. Coffee went over well – creamer (whitener) was not such a hit. I was going to have to buy a 500 pack of little single servings of half & half or I could buy a 50 pack of the coffee mate – so I took the lesser and – you know… Next time, I'm going half & half.
