Truck driver wants to make coffee in his truck....

Whoops - just read the reviews for the Roadpro at the Amazon site. Not many happy campers...

Wonderful! But since I don't possess the abilities of "The Amazing Kreskin", would you care to share any details...?

Truck driver wants to make coffee in his truck....

With an adequate 12 v. to 110 v. inverter, what would be wrong with a Kuerig Mini or Mini Plus? It's relatively small and, when not in use, there's no internal water to worry about "sloshing" around... ...or am I missing something? For the money, the Roadpro does look like it would be worth...

    White coffee??

Slightly off the subject but... Several years ago while in Canada, my friend and I were having dinner. When we ordered a beer, my friend asked the waiter to bring him a good imported beer and was expecting something exotic. The waiter brought him a Budweiser - hey, it was imported. :decaf:

    reusable k- cups

Thanks for the tip. I never heard of the Medelco baskets until your post. Now have 4 of them. The regular My K-cup basket holds about 10 or 11 grams of grounds, but the Medelco holds 15 or 16 grams. Perfect fit in the MKC holder - a real winner.

    Keeping Beans Fresh

Good idea with the suction cup... I used the jar sealer as I already had one - it came with my original FoodSaver "kit" quite some time ago. Also, if you have a chance, check your "attachment link" - I couldn't get it to work. :coffee:

There are 2 types of canister lids. One style you can "plug in" the vacuum hose directly - Example here Look closely at pic. The button is what releases the vacuum and the hole next to it is where you plug in the hose in "make" the vacuum. The 2nd style is shown in shadow745's link. These...

    Lavazza Gran Crema (ESE) Pods

For ease of use (also maybe a little lazy) I am thinking of trying the Lavazza Gran Crema ESE pods. Since the best deals come in a 150 pod package, I am looking for opinions before spending $50 plus or minus.

Does any one have/use a Cuisinart EM-200? If so, what's your opinion about it?

    Keeping Beans Fresh

I've had excellent results using the FoodSaver but I use their vacuum seal canisters. Except for the initial cost of the canisters, there are no bags to buy and gradually throw away.

    reusable k- cups

Over time, I have accumulated 5 My K Cups and 5 EkoBrews. I pre-fill and keep them in a FoodSaver vacuum sealed canister and use as needed - pulling a new vacuum each time one or more are used. This way, the coffee remains very fresh. I generally use "Chock ful o' Nuts" New York Roast coffee...
