thanks folks, but...uhh... back to my original question for this forum's members: does anyone have current pricing on Ambex roasters they would like to share?

I have sent several emails to Ambex to get pricing on their 2, 5, 10 kg roasters, but don't ever receive a response from them. Does anyone have current pricing from them that they'd like to share?

peter, initially i was not planning with going with a 10 kg (too big?!), but if the price is right and the hardware/brand is good, then this may be the "opportunity" that i was hoping would come along. i have incessantly read on most of the top brands this past week, but have crossed several...

no profiler and the existing ducting is being used by the new roaster.

topher / coffee, thanks for the replies. it is a 2008 model with external chaff collector. gentleman is asking me to make an offer. the unit was working just fine when replaced.

dorothy, thanks for the recommendation. i have corresponded with Bill a couple of times on a SF-6, what other roasters did you look at and why, ultimately, did you go with the SF? by "BEST", what do you mean from a comparative standpoint?

Gene Cafe comes to mind for a small-ish electric roaster which seems to produce excellent results. Also in the running, and with the look of a "real roaster" would be the Quest M3. Both have small footprints, but the Quest will probably give you more consistent results. The Gene Cafe is $700...

I am interested in finding out which roaster members own and why they own that roaster vs. the others they may have considered.
