One of the best books on roasting was written by Probats old director of R&D. Unfortunately I havent been able to get my hands on a physical english copy (the only copies I can locate are in german although there were a few printed in english also back when it was originally published)...
Marlee at Boot Coffee hit me up to make me aware of the Giesen 15k roaster they used at the SCAA Show is for sale.
It has the computer profile system and is ready to ship. Just call her up if you are interested in it.

Anybody see or cup from this machine yet? I had a Bunn Trifecta which looks to be very similar and was not impressed so I sold it on Ebay... curious if this one is better engineered?
Ah CoffeeJunky you had to wind him up again :) - his posts are a riot - NORTH COFFEE NORTH COFFEE lol he is probably using google translator too.

Does anybody have experience importing less than full containers? My coffee roasting operation is growing but we are still not at a point where I can justify the cost of a 37-42 thousand pound container. Is there any way I can import from farmers I know directly without paying through the nose...
Just seems like to me most the current "top" roasting operations have chosen a vintage refurbish Probat (Ritual / Handsome) or Gothot (Intelli) - are they choosing these old german machines versus buying a new machine due to what? Are they better built? Better materials in that era?
Just curious what websites others have found that are a good source for vintage probats/gothots etc? For example for US based sites I keep an eye on roastersexchange but I also watch Ebay Germany. Anybody find other domestic or foreign sites? I am on the hunt for a Probat UG 22....
Thanks in...
