New burrs and now terrible grind quality

I have a Grindmaster 875 I use for drip. I installed a new set of burrs, adjusted, and now the consistency is poor at best. I ensured all surfaces were clean during installation. Do new burrs need to "bed in" before grinding well or did I miss something?

Hello! Intro and a question about selling cold brewed coffee at festivals

FWIW, we use a Coffee Sock for cold brew. Works great and much less expensive than the Toddy.

    GrindMaster question

I have a GrindMaster 875, not the newer model. Normally, when I push the power button the machine stays on and grinds until I push the off button. Something has changed and now I have to hold the power button. If I let off the button the machine switches off. Anybody know why and how to fix it...

    Grindmaster 875 problems

This is a sudden problem. It starts spinning slowly and hums loudly, then it sort of breaks loose and spins normally (fast). If there is coffee in the hopper then the motor can't get it spinning and the circuit breaker trips. Any easy fixes or amI going to have to take the motor to a shop?

    Baratza Virtuoso lousy grind consistency

After my Breville SmartGrinder bit the dust I decided to go with Baratza. The Breville was just okay and I'd heard a lot of great things about the Baratza, so it seemed like an easy decision. Now, I wish I'd gotten another Breville. Not only was it much more user friendly but the grind was...

Assuming you're talking about a moka pot, there is a bit of technique required to get a good cup of coffee.

    Just how Important are De-Stoners?

I visually check as I scoop green from the sack to the bucket. Nuts & bolts, bits of plastic, and a Barbie Doll head are the worst I've found in Indonesian coffees so far.

As a small coffee roaster what is the best way to approach coffee serving places?

Hi, John. Stumptown Coffee here in Portland has an equipment program. That's one of the reasons they are so dominant in the local market. Once they have a shop/cafe/restaurant on an equipment contract it's extremely difficult to shake that account loose again.

As a small coffee roaster what is the best way to approach coffee serving places?

Top craft brands frequently go for $10+ per pound. I've also noticed that some shops are tied into equipment programs that require them to buy from the roaster they get their machines from. I'm about to embark on the same path.

Stainless Steel Brewing Cones...Do We Like Those?

I'm about to start selling at a farmers market and will be using paper for simplicity of use. I'd consider the Kone if I had a fixed storefront. Coffee professionals may be able to notice the differences but I know that our standard consumer cannot.
