Keep it real: The negatives of owning your own store

Thank you! It will be strange to actually be done planning and be OPEN. But on the plus side, it gave us time to really fine-tune our business model haha!

Keep it real: The negatives of owning your own store

When I wrote this response, I said we'd be open in a few months HAHAHA. So we are NOW opening in a few months. Like 2.5?? We are part of a brand new, fresh from the ground, strip mall of sorts (end cap with a drive thru), and it has literally taken us years longer to get open (due to the mall...

I've literally never seen an Albertsons, haha. (But then, I grew up in Alaska, so there's a lot of stores I've never seen.... HA)

    Milk Supplier

I can't find any dairy near here... and I've worked at 2 coffee shops around here and they both had to make multiple trips a week for milk at the local grocery store (there was no wholesale deal worked out or anything).

    Milk Supplier

Not yet. I haven't talked to the local grocery stores yet, as I'm not opening until May and decided to not deal with the grocery stores during the holidays any more than I needed to haha. But now that things have settled down, I will contact them soon.

    Milk Supplier

I saw that, but I've already checked the nearest costco, and they do not participate in business delivery D:

I didn't even think of asking the local grocery store if they're interested in partnering... Thank you!

    Milk Supplier

I'm having a hard time finding a milk supplier other than Costco. And since the Costco here doesn't deliver, we will have to pick up milk (25 minutes away) once or twice a week. Not ideal. Does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations for milk distributors? I'm in Texas, btw. Thank you!

"Americano" coffee from Spain and Portugal question.

My guess is starbucks uses quite a bit of water in their americanos, plus the coffee is very dark. But I am under the impression that traditional americanos use way less water (2-6 oz, instead of 10-14) and the roasts in those regions are probably better ;) Just my guess, as I've never been...

    More than one bean supplier...

Thank you! I will look more into creating the label myself! Good thing I have 6 more months before opening, haha.

    More than one bean supplier...

Thank you for your input! I would definitely have their roasting name on theirs - I want to do that regardless of 1 roaster or more.
