How inferior is this home method to commercial roasting? Also, will using an air popper to darken already roasted beans dry out the oils? Thanks.

With the new I-Roast, although I don't know if it's a "true" hot air popper, you can adjust both the time & the temperature, although it's taking me a little getting used to as the temp display on the LCD display is somewhat misleading. See the review at sweetmarias

Another question. I have some beans that are roasted too lightly for me. Will there be degredation if I re-roast the beans (with the air popper) to make them darker as opposed to roasting only once?

I've never tried re-roasting beans, but I find if you use slightly less of them so that they all get aggitated in the chamber then they should roast a bit more evenly, I always used to roast about 80gm in my old popper, and they came out very even in colour.
