Ambex Controller - Watlow EZ ZONE config

Hey guys, my Ambex YM-15 is getting up there in age, and the Watlow controller that was OEM is starting to show delayed response times.

It looks like the new Watlow EZ-ZONE PM Express for 1/32 DIN is the ticket to get this thing replaced, only thing is that it seems like there a ton of questions that need answering before I try and do this myself.

- Do I need a Temperature and Limit Controller device, or just a Temperature Sensor?
- Do I need to worry about Thermocoupler type? RTD number?
- What is the control output type?
- How many control loops?

In general, what model Watlow do I need to get to perform on an Ambex YM-15? Seems like the function is simple enough, I just can't tell with all the techie questions they are asking.

You have to tell the controller what is has, either a TC or RTD. If the RTD has 3 wires or 2 wires you need to specify.
Heat on/off
Closed loop
You also need to set the Low and High setpoint
Other settings can be different on the Ambex vs other roasters
You can go into program mode of your current controller and get the parameters.
